Powerful Picture

This was found in his diary,
Dear God, I promise I will never waste my food no matter how bad it can taste and how full I may be. I pray that He will protect this little boy, guide and deliver him away from his misery. I pray that we will be more sensitive towards the world around us and not be blinded by our own selfish nature and interests.
I hope this picture will always serve as a reminder to us that how fortunate we are and that we must never ever take things for granted.

From another perspective, I get angry. I think about how much effort and money and food are given out of the good of the hearts of many to help the most destitute in the world. I then think about the monsters who used these programs to increase their own wealth, or bribe nations for votes, weapons, and power. Many of the same monsters who, we have now learned, would withold food from young girls until they would agree to provide sexual favors.
There is the natural evil of materialism that harnesses greed, and then there is the evil of intentionally stealing from the poor. I can think of little worse than the folks who stole from the poor – took what had been given to the poor by many – for their own personal gains. There is no excuse of “out of sight, out of mind;” there is no excuse of not having enough to give of their own; there is no excuse of not being able to directly help. These people had the supplies, saw the poor with their own eyes, and were given the job of dispensing gifts from other people intended to help the needy. Everything they did was with the conscious thought of stealing from the poor to benefit themselves.
There is the neglect that comes from being in a comfort zone that makes one forget the destitute, and then there is this – the intentional harm by people who are so possessed by evil that they can look the poor in the eye, take their food, and demand sex.
And the U.N., with a straight face, will condemn the U.S. for “human rights violations.” Pardon my candor, but screw them. We gave you food for millions – you sold it for money to bribe people for votes and weapons and sex. Then you howl that Americans don’t want these same people putting our soldiers on trial at the Hague. Good gosh, man, what fools we would be!
