News Radio WBBM AM 780

I always thought WBBM news radio was nonpartisan. That was until the other day they covered John Kerry’s call for Iraq Withdrawal. The senate voted 93-6 against the motion. Apparently, the majority of senators are not for picking up and running as John Kerry is.

Here’s the part that irks me. WBBM played two interviews from the six opposing democrats and no comments were heard from the 93 who voted to sustain the war until the job was done. I don’t appreciate WBBM trying to effect popular opinion by highlighting only one side of the vote… the losing side.

It sucks that people aren’t able to find the correct “conservative” news on the radio anymore. Each day I travel round and round the radio dial searching and hoping I can find some voice for our side. Instead all I hear are moderates like Rush & Hannity. John “Traitor” Kerry needs to realize that if it takes 20 years to secure Iraq, we will be there. People want to be free, but apparently he wants terrorists to take over the US!

“…and no comments were heard from the 93 who voted to sustain the war until the job was done.”

That’s because we’ve heard it all before. This is yet another effort by the Republicans to try and paint the Dems in a corner, the old “you’re either for us or against us” crap. Thomas Jefferson once said, “Dissent is the highest form of patriotism,” and unfortunately we don’t have enough of that going on right now.

Once again, instead of working on meaningful legislation the Right is bringing up this “meaninglis” ;) stuff to take the easily distracted public’s minds off of the real issues.

Oh, by the way, there are plenty of conservative talk shows on the dial if that’s what you have to hear.

Someguy welcome to Meaninglis.com. Thanks for commenting. First of all I’m not sure if you’re from Chicago but Sleeper is right (cue the fireworks and the 1812 Overture) there are plenty of conservative radio stations to listen to besides AM 890 home of Rush & Hannity. Personally I like AM 560. I it found by driving by a bulletin board that said “560 AM liberals HATE IT” lol… I had to check it out. I also think there is more conservative radio then liberal. J-Dub said, “It’s probably because liberals don’t care to learn about the issues” TRU DAT!

Sleepers you and the Dems (I know you like to think of yourself as independent) have every right to speak out against the war. I don’t think anyone is not patriotic for taking that view, honestly. Just support the view with logic. Give us more then Bush is an idiot and there are other things at home that need our attention.

“Once again, instead of working on meaningful legislation the Right is bringing up this “meaninglis” stuff to take the easily distracted public’s minds off of the real issues.” Go ahead Sleeplis throw your poop :) I have to admit some of the issues that congress has been tackling lately have been some rather small issues. However, I have a pessimistic view of congress getting anything serious (social security, health insurance, etc) accomplished as do 75% of Americans that thinks that congress is more inept then Bush.

Lis, you are dead-on! I like your site because you don’t let these liberals get away with the same old garbage. If its one thing they don’t know, its logic. They always conveniently forget a little thing called 9-11. Saddam and Osama attacked us. We have to retaliate. That’s logic. What’s so hard to understand? They must think the UN will help. Yeah right! Face it, like it or not the US has to clean up terrorism itself. You think France will do it? We learned in WW2 that they surrender every time!

There’s no conservative radio?! That’s all there is. I can’t find a liberal radio program if I tried. Now if you asked me about liberal TV news, the list would be neverending.

Lis quoted me as saying, “It’s probably because liberals don’t care to learn about the issues.” That wasn’t put very tactfully but I do think it’s true to an extent. The majority of far left liberals have nothing more than a hatred for Bush. If the Democratic party actually put together a coherent, meaningful agenda, they might be dangerous!

Right on, someguy! You can’t make a democracy omelet without breaking a few eggs! As for conservative radio, I’m new to Chicago and I’m looking for a station that speaks my language. Right now, I have to drive my seven kids around in the church van, listening to WRDZ AM 1300 (Dinsey). I’ll tell you something, listening to re-tooled Blind 182 (I think that’s the name of the band) tunes sung by eight-year old girls is really starting to stick a wrench in my rear! Can somebody please point me in the right direction? God bless.

If you’re looking for conservative political radio try 560 AM.

Here’s the next part of this story. After the senate elected 93-6 not to cut & run. The senate just voted 86-13 against a short timetable to withdraw U.S. troops from Iraq. The Senate also rejected a second amendment that had a longer and more open-ended schedule for withdrawal. That failed 60-39.
