Meaninglis TV

Here’s an update on what I’ve been watching.

24: The best show on TV keeps getting better and better. The last three weeks I’ve found myself saying “this was the best episode yet” I have so many questions I can’t wait to see if they’re answered. Will Secretary Heller die? Will the Presidents actions become public or stay within the walls of their administration? Will the President meet his demise? If so, it would be dumb if it’s Jack. I’m pulling for Aaron Pierce to take justice into his own hands. Who will get the last laugh Jack or Henderson? I’m also hoping Jack will die. The show would be better without him. It’s not that Keifer’s a good actor it’s just that show’s made him into a MacGyver James Bond love child or something. Oh and Doctor Romano joined the cast this week. I used to love that guy on ER.

American Idol: It’s getting down to the intense time when fat is trimmed from the meat. This is Kelly’s last day on Idol. Nothing against the girl but her talent’s just taken her as far as it can. I’m still pulling for Chris and my dark horse Katherine. Once its down to the final four (Chris, Katherine, Paris, and Taylor) it will come down to their individual performances which makes the show fun to watch each week from here on out.
Paula Abdul has got to go. I can’t take another season of AI with Paula on the show.

Survivor: Survivor’s starting to get a little old for me. I’m still interested in seeing this season through but I feel like I’m watching because there’s nothing better on. I’m pulling for Terry the retired US Air Force pilot. The odds are stacked against Terry so it will be fun to see if the underdog can pull it out. I can’t wait for the day Shane gets voted out.

Dude, we got to covert you to Lost. We did a fabulous job with 24…

    The little sis’s take:

24: Tony, come back from the dead. I miss you. That was
a worthless kill off. It would’ve been better to kill off Jack and make Tony the star. Carlos (Tony) can totally carry off 24. This show is amazing and I keep
yelling at the TV for the stupid stuff that goes on
as well. I think Karen will bring down the President
with Mike and Vice Pres. I don’t buy the Heller run off the cliff thing, stupid. I hope the slimmy guy who works for Karen will get the smack down from Chloe.

AI: I hope your Dark Haired Horse Katherine will win or Taylor if he colors his hair. Those are my picks.
Kelly Pickle is done. Paula…well, um, she is turning into a loone. She had 1 album, what more does she really know about music? This year the judges have been hard on the singers, poor guys.

If you didn’t know…last season of Alais.

    YAY…she’s gone!

Survivor is starting to get a little long in the tooth for me too. When the La Mina tribe started getting picked off one by one I started losing interest. I’m unable to root for anyone from Casaya. But now I’m interested to see if Terry can go all the way.

    24: So good it’s ridiculous.

AI: Elliot it’s your turn to go home. Katherine is starting to pull ahead of Chris imo.

  6. Lis on May 4th, 2006 6:53 am

Well Paris got the boot instead of Elliot. That’s fine by me. I was thinking it was between the two of them and it was.

Elliot goes next week unless someone else performs poorly.

  7. gw on May 4th, 2006 7:06 am

I wish Elliot would go, but Paris was right up there.
She had trouble connecting with the audience.

Dude, You SO called it with Heller being alive. Of course the weisel that is assistant to Karen has to
    call the President.
It doesn’t make sense that Chloe is working on the
recording and it doesn’t register that its being erased? CoME ON…Stupid

Here’s hoping Terry wins it all tonight. But the slackers from the other tribe will probably vote for their own even though Terry was definately the strongest Survivor.

  10. gw on May 16th, 2006 7:15 am

    Who cares about Survivor!?! LOL
    You need to watch 24

  11. Lis on May 16th, 2006 7:19 am

Well at least the 2nd strongest competitor Aras won in Survivor. I felt bad for Terry not getting any loot. He deserved it. Wonder if this will mark the end of my Survivor days.

24 is still the best show going. Sucks only 2 hours left! I hope Jack dies :)

American Idol I’m left to pull for Kat but I’m not that confident.

  12. Sleeper on May 16th, 2006 1:02 pm

24 is one of those shows I’d like to watch but just don’t have time to. People at work are always raving about it. It sucks being out of the loop. ;)

The three shows I rarely miss are Boston Legal, The Amazing Race and Survivor. I’ve watched Idol a few times but it just isn’t my cup of tea. From what little I watch this season I enjoyed Chris’ singing the most. Was disappointed to hear that he got voted out receintly.

  13. Lis on May 16th, 2006 6:08 pm

Sleeper you should watch 24 starting from season 3 (I started at season 4). From what I heard it took them two years to work out the kinks. It will be worth the investment. Can’t say much for Boston or Race.

American Idol was the BOMB tonight! Kat was HOT in over the rainbow. The 2nd best performance of the season next to Chris’ “I’m a Cowboy” by Bon Jovi. Taylor’s 3 performance were the best overall. But Kat definitely stole the show w/ Rainbow. Elliot was awesome on his 2nd song but the 1st & 3rd songs were lacking… bu bye Elliot.

  14. gw on May 17th, 2006 8:28 am

Kat was awesome singing Over the Rainbow. Even the
    coworkers are raving about it.

Ditto about 24. You’ll love it! Trust us.

No Brian, if Tony was still alive then Jack would be
able to die and Tony can take over the show.
I really think the break out character this year is
Chloe. She has done so much…she is like supergirl!

I can’t get into Surviver & American Race. Alias, 24, Lost, and occasionally
Scrubs are the shows I watch. With a peak at Idol.

  15. Lis on May 18th, 2006 9:54 am

Interesting thoughts about why Chris was voted out.

Alias was one of my favorite shows until they moved it off of Sundays. It’s tough to keep a show like that going though. It’ll be a shame to see it go.

  17. Lis on May 25th, 2006 1:57 pm

Congrats to Taylor winning AI. I’m surprised on one hand because he seems less marketable then Kathrine. On the other hand Taylor was always the most consistant performer. I don’t think he was ever in the bottom three.

  18. gw on May 25th, 2006 2:35 pm

You might be right Brian, I don’t think he was ever in the bottom three. Taylor does have a great voice
and personality. Did you notice that Ryan didn’t beat
around the bush when announcing the winner? Plus Taylor
    had the most votes ever.

Did you see Lost? No? Didn’t think so. It was GREAT.
