American Idol VII
Time again to predict what’s going to happen on Idol. My track record isn’t to good picking the winner but my top 5 has been dead on. I think it’s because I tend to pull for the dark horse. Any who, let’s see if I can change that trend and get 1-5. What do you think?
I liked Amanda a lot at the start of the year. But she’s a one trick pony. You can only listen to someone who seems to smoke a pack of cigs before singing so many times. Props to her version of “Riders on the Storm” a few weeks ago.
Brooke is a bit confusing to me. At the start I liked her. Then I really disliked her. But the last few weeks she’s been coming on strong. I think when it’s all said and done she’ll be on the bubble of the really good performers, sorry Brooke.
I don’t appreciate Carly as much as everyone else does. I think she’s overrated. At times she’s had her moments. Overall I just don’t get her and her tats. I think she’s going to disappoint a lot of people when she doesn’t make the top 5.
Love “ChickEasy”. His style is so smooth. A top 5 lock. I don’t think he’s got enough to be in the top 3 but if gets hot it’s possible but unlikely. I wouldn’t count him out entirely a big factor for Chikezie will be his song choices. He’s made a few bad choices already.
I think David is the odds in favorite. He crushed “Another Day in Paradise” and “Imagine”. “Imagine” was so good little David actually made me forget who sang it for a second. Then this week when the Beetles opened up their song book to AI… something right in Archulleta’s wheel house… he blew it! He forgot the words like 3 times. Unbelievable. Hopefully that will propel him not to make that mistake again. Definitely a top 2 finisher… but I guess yet again I’m pulling for another dark horse.
Micheal’s good. Nice singing voice. I just don’t think he’s awesome. Simon keeps saying I’m waiting for more from Mike, and so am I. Sometimes he walks a line between good and a performer at Great America. Top 5 but no way top 3.
Syesha’s my girl. Her style is awesome. She can sing. She’s got the whole package going on. The real problem so far is that Syesha’s not really had one of those defining moments yet. She capable of turning it up a notch. It’s going to come down to song choice for her because I think a couple of the guys are more talented singers then her.
I can’t believe I’m going to agree with Paula Abdul on something. Cook is the dark horse (yes again I’m pulling for the dark horse). I guess that’s because I like the rocker guys like Bo Bice and Daughtry (who’s blowin’ up). But David’s really got something special with the way he carries himself. He know how to play the rock edge yet not go to far to alienate the pop kiddies who vote. And talk about a hit… Cook turned Lionel Richie’s balled “Hello” to a whole new level.

You definitely have the top 5 nailed, but your order is wrong. I think Amanda is good, but she is not real popular and doesn’t have any personality at all. Brooke is popular and talented, but Carly is the MOST talented of the girls. I just don’t think it is the year of the girl winner. It is going to be a guy. My favorite voice is Michael’s but I think it is going to be Cook that carries it. Archeletta did himself in forgetting his lines. Singing is his future, but he needs to grow up a bit. He lost AI last week unless the teeny boppers carry him in with the vote. Chichesie is out this week and I think Syesha goes this week too. Too much excellent talent this year and she is not going to carry above the other girls who rock. Then Brooke… then the race between Carly and Amanda. But it is the year of the male winner. If Cook nails another song, kiss the rest goodbye
I liked your post but it was a little pitchy. =0p
I don’t get the whole Carly thing either and I definitely don’t think this is the best group of talent ever on the show.
Seems to change every week but I’m guessing Archuleta will redeem himself and win.
Dang, I was disappointed that Chikezie got voted out prematurely. Song choice is EVERYTHING. Chikezie had a good track record of picking the wrong songs. Ah well, he seems like a nice guy. Hope he’s able to do something with his God give talent. Good Luck Chikezie.
I think David Cook is THE most talented. Not sure he is the most popular. He should win. It is definitely the year of the guys. Kristie or Ramiele will go this week.
Both the Davids are my favorite. I think David Cook has some amazing talent with what he can do with songs and his creativity. He’s unique and definitely has a career in music that could be long lasting.
David Archulleta is a sweetheart and has a really good singing voice. I was excited and surprised to hear him sing a Rebecca St. James song last week. I think we have several Christians in the competition this year. Very cool!
Out of the girls, I would have to say Carly is the best. She won me over with all the Celine Dion songs she did at the beginning of the competition.
Can’t wait to see the results!
Well so far pretty much right. Chikezie could still be in it if he had the right song choice as I stated. Micheal got voted out a week or two early but I pretty much knew he had no chance.
Brooke continues to improve and is an interesting person. She’s kind of the dark horse now IMO. But still the two Davids are the ones to beat. I think David Cook will have it tougher now because of the expectations to match his past killer performances.
While lil’ Dave can just belt out songs without too much pressure of redesigning a song.
Carly also has had a few good performances. She’s got to cover up those ugly tats.
WOOT I called Carly not making the top5. She bows out at #6. So I guess the big difference so far is that had Chikezie in Jason’s place. Jason has to go this week.
Hey, you were wrong about Michael too.
I am always surprised that Jason makes another week. He should have been gone weeks ago.
Paula at least
got something right when she said to David Cook, “I believe I am looking at the next American Idol.”
