Titanic 2
That’s right they made the squeal of the impossible plot line. Both the Titanic and Lenardo are back. Weird eh?

MLK Day
MLK was an incredible man! I wish I had his ability to communicate and is strength.
I totally think it’s a legit holiday however…
Do we really need a whole month for “Black history month” coming up in February? I’m not racist (at least I don’t think I am
) but seriously… isn’t a whole month to recognize a races history a bit extreme? We don’t have a Jewish history month, or a French history month (well that’s because their history can be summed up in 2 minutes ). Seriously.. IF a race wants to be equal then they should be equal on all things including month long celebrations.
Remembering Martin Luther King is a completely different issue. He deserves the world’s attention now and from future generations.
I hope I’ve not offended anyone, that wasn’t my point. Maybe someone could teach me the value of “black history month”???
More thoughts on Angelo
Have you noticed how the Bears draft? They draft all offense one year and all defense the next. The defense finished top 2 in most defensive stats in ‘05. So this years draft when Angelo went all defense quite a few people were not happy. If the draft were reordered now you’d see both Mark Anderson and Devin Hestor going in the first round. It’s because Angelo focuses on one side of the ball each year that allows him to find diamonds in the ruff.
The biggest reason Angelo has won me over is his team building strategy. A large number of core players are signed to long term contacts. The Bears are young with the exception of the offensive line. Each year if just two key starters are added to the mix the Bears will continue to see post season action. With salary cap increases and two winning seasons more free agents will be willing to play for Chicago. Not to mention Angelo will continue to be successful in the draft.
The future looks good. Hopefully this will be their year. But if it’s not we’ll be competitive for a long long time. And that’s very rare in sports these days.
Dump Rivera!
The Bears have the biggest baddest defense in football… blah blah blah.
The Bears have a talented defense thanks to Jerry Angelo. I used to be an Angelo detractor mainly due to the Roosevelt Colvin debacle. Then I wanted Angelo to pick Mike Williams instead of Cedric Benson… boy was I wrong on that. So basically Angelo screwed up once. I can forgive him for that.
What I can’t forgive is when the highest ranked regular season defense lays down in the playoffs. In the last two year Rivera’s defense has given up 54 points in two post season games. That’s unacceptable.
If you remember last year Rivera was all the buzz about being the next head coach, same as this year. I say good riddance. If he’s not hired away, I say fire him. The ONLY reason the Bears defense is any good is because they’re talented. I’ve not once seen the Bears defense win a game because Rivera put his players in position to make extraordinary plays.
Mike McMichael said when the Bears destroyed the Giant on the way to the superbowl was largely due to a different stunt the defensive line ran. McMichael & Hampton blocked toward the outside and Dent came from the end up the middle (around two guys). Dent ended that day with three sacks. Now that’s coaching.
How ’bout half time adjustment? I seriously can’t remember one game when the defense played differently the first half then they did the second half. The only exception I can think of is the Arizona game when Urlacher single handily took over the game. Again that’s talent not coaching. “Yeah but the Bears are missing Mike Brown and Tommie Harris”… SO WHAT! As great as those players are (especially Harris) that’s when good coaches are separated from the average.
How about this… how does Tom Brady continue to be so successful when his team is depleted each year more and more? Two words “Bill Belichick”. Bill schemes and coaches to put his guys in position to win and it doesn’t matter who Belichick is working with on offense or defense his guys make plays.
I hope the Bears go on to win the Superbowl. And if I’m continued to dream for a second Ron Rivera gets hired as head coach of an NFL North team so the Bears can rip his defense for 25 points a game.
