Gillette recently introduced the Fusion, a powered wet shaver with five blades on the front and one on the back. At first I mocked the concept of FIVE blades. I mean come on isn’t three or four enough? The Fusion power razor gives me the best shave yet.
The power component makes the razor vibrate which doesn’t make much sense. It seems like you’d cut your face up but instead it massages the skin and helps each individual blade get a closer shave. Trust me, like you, I once thought this was the most ridiculous product on the market… no longer. Drop the 10 bucks and check it out. Make sure to get the power version.

Up Up & Away!
Yesterday was Kite Day in Palatine so we jumped in our car to fly kites as a family. We invited some of our best friends the Borher family. Doug & Julia couldn’t make it. The rest of the clan showed up and we had a good time catching up with Joy and playing with Tiffanie & Deanna.
The wind was sporadic so flying kites was a little challenging. We’re actually closet kite geeks. We have three sweet parafoils. One of the parafoils is 6 feet by 6 feet, which we call “The Beast”. Unfortunately the Beast doesn’t see much flying time as it requires two guys to fly it. It literally pulled me off the ground in the past. So yesterday we had the smaller kites up with our usual array of spinners and line laundry.
Tiffanie & Deanna both took turns with Brian flying the parafoil. Eileen O. Daday, a reporter from the Daily Herald was walking around and got a few quotes from Tiffy & Brian. How cool! Apperently there’s more to Brian’s & Joy’s relationship, just as some past Creekers thought.
Meanwhile, While Brandon somehow found someone else’s stroller 30 yards away that had not toys, not snacks, but books in it.
We had a good time chating with Joy. We missed spending time with Julia and the “big time Motorola executive”.
Best Trade Ever?
The Philadelphia Phillies traded Jim Thome to the World Series champion Chicago White Sox for center fielder Aaron Rowand.
Aaron Rowand plays solid defense in center field and he’s putting up a .328 batting average with 2 home runs on the year. Aaron was a blue collar guy and Sox fan favorite. But this trade is amazingly one sided so far to the Sox’s advantage, it’s not even funny.
Jim Thome is rippin’ the cover off the ball so far this season. His average is .347 and he’s jacked 9 homers already. His on base percentage is a staggering .536!!! He gets on base every other time to bat. That’s just plain ludicrous! It’s impossible Thome will stay this hot but if he does his end of season stats look like 85 home runs (which would be a league record) 171 RBI’s (7th all time) & 190 walks.
Here’s the best part… Philadelphia Phillies gave the White Sox $22 million as part of the deal!
One more thing about Jim Thome. He’s got the sweetest swing I’ve ever seen. It’s so smooth… check it out for yourself.
ABC’s
Hope you enjoyed Star Wars week.
There was some crazy stuff going on around the world. Like the Muslim mother who called her 21 year old son a hero after blowing up an Isreali resturant and himself. Duke LaCross boys get pulled into court, even though no DNA was found and the 2nd striper at the scene of the crime admits to seeing nothing. We find out the Chinese are harvesting the organs of prisoners. Oh soooo much to write about. Lots of good topics for this coming week.
But for this first post after Star Wars week lets keep things on the light side (compared to the darkside
)
Give Brandon a truck, tool, or some pans to beat on and he’ll drop them like a hot potatos. The boy’s only interested in ABC’s, reading, and spelling.
We’ve been teaching Brandon how to pray at mealtime. We ask him to pray by giving him a line and then he repeats it.
Thank you God… “Thank you God”
For this food… “For this food”
Amen… “Amen”
Yesterday we sat down for breakfast. Brandon started praying on his own for the first time…
“Thank you God for Mommy and Daddy,
Thank you God for ABC’s
Amen”
